A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money for COVID-19 technical assistance.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
$200,000 in fiscal year 2020 is
appropriated from the federal coronavirus relief fund to the commissioner of agriculture to
assist producers impacted by COVID-19 via grants or contracts with community-based
organizations or producer groups to provide communications support and technical assistance
to producers, including but not limited to translating guidance information and increasing
awareness of state and federal COVID-19 resources.
(a) Money appropriated in subdivision 1
may not be spent until the commissioner of management and budget determines that the
expenditure is an eligible use of the federal coronavirus relief fund.
(b) The appropriation in subdivision 1 is available until December 30, 2020.
This section is effective the day following final enactment.
