A bill for an act
relating to health; changing provisions for well contractor's license; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2006, sections 103I.525, subdivision 5; 103I.531, subdivision
6.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 103I.525, subdivision 5, is amended to
read:
(a) As a condition of being issued a well contractor's license, the
applicant, except a person applying for an individual well contractor's license, must submit
a corporate surety bond for deleted text begin $10,000deleted text end new text begin $25,000new text end approved by the commissioner. The bond
must be conditioned to pay the state on performance of work in this state that is not in
compliance with this chapter or rules adopted under this chapter. The bond is in lieu of
other license bonds required by a political subdivision of the state.
(b) From proceeds of the bond, the commissioner may compensate persons injured
or suffering financial loss because of a failure of the applicant to perform work or duties in
compliance with this chapter or rules adopted under this chapter.
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 103I.531, subdivision 6, is amended to read:
The fee for a limited well/boring contractor's license is $75.new text begin
The fee for three or more limited well/boring contractor licenses is $225.
