relating to economic development; appropriating money for technical assistance
and business training.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION FOR NORTHEAST ENTREPRENEUR FUND.

$500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of employment
and economic development for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2009, for a grant to the
Northeast Entrepreneur Fund for technical assistance and business training to small and
emerging businesses. The technical assistance and business training program will support
entrepreneurs with business management skills and assist in providing access to business
lending from the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund and other sources.

The Northeast Entrepreneur Fund shall prepare an annual report to the commissioner
on the number of loans, dollars loaned, assistance provided, and jobs created or retained
through the technical assistance and business training program.
