  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to watercraft; exempting collector watercraft 
  1.3             from certain watercraft license display requirements; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 86B.401, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 86B.401, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 13.  [COLLECTOR WATERCRAFT.] (a) On watercraft built 
  1.10  before July 1, 1959, which are used solely as a collector's 
  1.11  item, the owner may affix any license numbers and decals 
  1.12  required by section 86B.301, subdivision 1, and Minnesota Rules, 
  1.13  parts 6110.0300 to 6110.0500, so as to be readily detachable. 
  1.14     (b) During any exhibit, regatta, or boat parade held on the 
  1.15  waters of this state authorized under a permit in section 
  1.16  86B.121, any collector watercraft may be exempted in that permit 
  1.17  from displaying the license numbers and decals required by 
  1.18  section 86B.301, subdivision 1, as well as any equipment or 
  1.19  operational requirement.
