  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to family law; requiring six-month and 
  1.3             one-year court hearings to review child support, 
  1.4             visitation, and joint custody compliance; proposing 
  1.5             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 518. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [518.635] [REVIEW OF ORDERS INVOLVING 
  1.8   CHILDREN.] 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [MANDATORY REVIEW HEARING.] Every court 
  1.10  order under this chapter or a paternity action under chapter 257 
  1.11  that includes provisions for payment of child support, 
  1.12  visitation by a noncustodial parent, or joint custody must set a 
  1.13  date for a six-month review hearing to be attended by both 
  1.14  parties at which the court shall review compliance of the 
  1.15  parties with the child support, visitation, and joint custody 
  1.16  provisions of the order.  At the six-month review hearing, the 
  1.17  court shall schedule another review hearing to be attended by 
  1.18  both parties as close to one year after the date of the court 
  1.19  order as possible. 
  1.20     Subd. 2.  [STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE.] If each of the parties 
  1.21  files with the court a notarized statement that the other party 
  1.22  is complying with all court-ordered child support, visitation, 
  1.23  and joint custody provisions, the court need not hold a hearing 
  1.24  required by subdivision 1.
