  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; permitting nonresident 
  1.3             youth to hunt deer for resident fee; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 97A.451, subdivision 
  1.5             3a.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 97A.451, 
  1.8   subdivision 3a, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3a.  [NONRESIDENTS UNDER AGE 16; SMALL GAME; DEER.] 
  1.10  (a) A nonresident under age 16 may obtain a small game 
  1.11  license or a license to take deer with firearms at the resident 
  1.12  fee if the nonresident: 
  1.13     (1) possesses a firearms safety certificate; or 
  1.14     (2) if age 13 or under, is accompanied by a parent or 
  1.15  guardian when purchasing the license. 
  1.16     (b) A nonresident age 13 or under must be accompanied by a 
  1.17  parent or guardian to take small game or deer.
