  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; adjusting certain nursing 
  1.3             facility costs; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.4             section 256B.434, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256B.434, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 4c.  [NURSING FACILITY LAUNDRY COSTS.] For any 
  1.9   nursing facility in St. Louis county that owns and operates its 
  1.10  own laundry facility, the commissioner, for rate years beginning 
  1.11  on or after July 1, 2001, shall consider employees working in 
  1.12  the laundry facility to be nursing facility employees, when 
  1.13  calculating adjustments to the total operating payment rate or 
  1.14  calculating employee compensation adjustments under this section 
  1.15  or any other section.  This provision is not restricted to 
  1.16  laundry facilities that are located exclusively within the 
  1.17  nursing facility.
