  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; appropriating money to 
  1.3             acquire and restore a natural waterway adjacent to Big 
  1.4             Fish lake. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [BIG FISH LAKE.] 
  1.7      The commissioner of natural resources shall acquire under 
  1.8   Minnesota Statutes, chapter 117, or other law, land described as 
  1.9   "the alley between lots 30 and 31 of Sunset View Addition to 
  1.10  Collegeville Township, Stearns County," and restore it to its 
  1.11  natural state as a filter to remove agricultural nutrients and 
  1.12  other polluting runoff before the runoff reaches Big Fish lake 
  1.13  to the detriment of the lake, its marine life, and its 
  1.14  recreational uses. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.16     $....... in fiscal year 1998 is appropriated from the 
  1.17  general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for the 
  1.18  purposes of section 1. 
  1.19     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     Sections 1 and 2 are effective December 31, 1997.
