A bill for an act
relating to railroads; requiring counseling for railroad employees following train
accidents; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 219.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin When a Class One or Class Two common rail carrier train or track vehicle strikes, or
is struck by, a pedestrian, motor vehicle, or other implement, that carrier shall provide
appropriate counseling service to an employee, upon request from that employee or the
employee's representative, without expense to that employee. The counseling service must
be provided by an independent, third-party, and accredited counseling agency.
