  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; allowing the teachers of color 
  1.3             program appropriation to carry over; amending Laws 
  1.4             1993, chapter 224, article 8, section 22, subdivision 
  1.5             12, as amended. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1993, chapter 224, article 8, section 22, 
  1.8   subdivision 12, as amended by Laws 1994, chapter 647, article 8, 
  1.9   section 31, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 12.  [TEACHERS OF COLOR PROGRAM.] For grants to 
  1.11  school districts for the teachers of color program: 
  1.12        $300,000    .....    1994
  1.13        $500,000    .....    1995
  1.14     Of this appropriation, at least $75,000 each fiscal year 
  1.15  shall be for educating people of color to be early childhood and 
  1.16  parent educators. 
  1.17     The appropriation in this section does not cancel but is 
  1.18  available until June 30, 1996. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
