  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; providing funding for lamb 
  1.3             and wool research, education, and marketing assistance 
  1.4             programs; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [LAMB AND WOOL PROGRAM; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $250,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $250,000 in fiscal year 
  1.8   2003 are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.9   of agriculture for the first two years of a four-year 
  1.10  collaborative research, education, and marketing assistance 
  1.11  program for lamb and wool farmers.  $100,000 each year is for 
  1.12  transfer to the board of trustees of the Minnesota state 
  1.13  colleges and universities for lamb and wool educational programs.
  1.14  $100,000 each year is for transfer to the University of 
  1.15  Minnesota for research and other information support relating to 
  1.16  sheep and other small ruminants.  $50,000 each year is for lamb 
  1.17  and wool market research, development, and support activities of 
  1.18  the commissioner.
