  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime; providing criminal penalties for 
  1.3             trespassing on railroad tracks; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1998, section 609.85, subdivision 6. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 609.85, 
  1.7   subdivision 6, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 6.  [ALLOWING ANIMALS TRESPASSING ON TRACK.] Whoever 
  1.9   intentionally trespasses or permits animals under the person's 
  1.10  control to trespass on a railroad track is guilty of a 
  1.11  misdemeanor. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     Section 1 is effective August 1, 1999, and applies to 
  1.14  crimes committed on or after that date.
