A bill for an act
proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article XIII, section 1;
providing for high quality in public education through equitable and adequate
funding.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.


new text begin An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution is proposed to the people. If the
amendment is adopted, article XIII, section 1, will read:

Section 1.

The stability of a republican form of government depending mainly upon the
intelligence of the people, it is the duty of the legislature to establish a deleted text begingeneraldeleted text end new text beginhigh quality
new text endand uniform system of public schools. The legislature shall make such provisions new text beginto
provide equitable and adequate funding
new text endby taxation or otherwise as will secure a thorough
and efficient system of public schools throughout the state.

election. The question submitted shall be:
