  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to adoption; requiring the listing of all 
  1.3             children freed for adoption on the state adoption 
  1.4             exchange within 20 days; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1994, section 259.75, subdivision 2, and by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 259.75, 
  1.9   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  All authorized local social service agencies, and 
  1.11  licensed child-placing agencies shall send to the state adoption 
  1.12  exchange, within 60 45 days of the time a child becomes free for 
  1.13  adoption, a recent photograph and description of each child in 
  1.14  its care who has been legally freed for adoption by the 
  1.15  termination of parental rights, and for whom no adoptive home 
  1.16  has been found.  
  1.17     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 259.75, is 
  1.18  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.19     Subd. 2a.  All children identified under subdivision 2 must 
  1.20  be listed on the state adoption exchange within 20 days of the 
  1.21  receipt of the information from the local social service agency 
  1.22  or licensed child-placing agency.
