A bill for an act
relating to capital improvements; authorizing the sale and issuance of state
bonds; appropriating money for the Shell Rock River Watershed District.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $148,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of
natural resources for a grant to the Shell Rock River Watershed District for the Wedge
Creek fish barrier project to prevent invasive fish that cause high-water turbidity leading to
poor water quality from migrating upstream into spawning areas. The district may design,
construct, and equip an adequate fish barrier system, including a building for equipment,
and improving the existing culvert on Wedge Creek.

new text begin $138,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of

Lake fish barrier project to prevent invasive fish that cause high-water turbidity leading to
poor water quality from migrating upstream into spawning areas. The district may design,
construct, and equip an adequate barrier system, including a building for equipment, and
improving the existing culvert into White Lake.

amount of 50 percent of the total project costs.

Sec. 2. new text begin BOND AUTHORIZATION.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond proceeds fund, the
commissioner of finance shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to
$286,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota
Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI,
sections 4 to 7.
