A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating money to the commissioners of health and
education for training family home visitors.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2016 and $....... in
fiscal year 2017 are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of education
for training home visitors as a part of the early childhood family education program under
Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.13, subdivision 4.

home visitors as a part of the family home visiting program under Minnesota Statutes,

new text begin To the extent practicable, training for
home visitors under subdivisions 1 and 2 must incorporate research and best practices
on prenatal and early childhood brain function and development. The training must also
emphasize the importance of providing home visiting services at as young an age as
possible.
