  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the agricultural utilization resource 
  1.3             institute; providing for an additional member on the 
  1.4             board of directors; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.5             section 116O.09, subdivision 1a. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 116O.09, 
  1.8   subdivision 1a, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1a.  [BOARD OF DIRECTORS.] The board of directors of 
  1.10  the agricultural utilization research institute is comprised of: 
  1.11     (1) the chairs of the senate agriculture and rural 
  1.12  development committee and the house of representatives 
  1.13  agriculture and rural development committee; 
  1.14     (2) two representatives of statewide farm organizations; 
  1.15     (3) two representatives of agribusiness, one of whom is a 
  1.16  member of the Minnesota Technology, Inc. board representing 
  1.17  agribusiness; and 
  1.18     (4) three representatives of the commodity promotion 
  1.19  councils; and 
  1.20     (5) the commissioner of agriculture. 
  1.21     A member of the board of directors under clauses (1) to 
  1.22  (4) (5) may designate a permanent or temporary replacement 
  1.23  member representing the same constituency.
