  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to community development; providing funding 
  1.3             for planning the revitalization of commercial 
  1.4             corridors; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $250,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of trade and economic development in fiscal year 
  1.9   2002 for the purpose of making grants to central cities for the 
  1.10  purpose of planning the revitalization of aging commercial 
  1.11  corridors.  The commissioner shall make grants on a 
  1.12  request-for-proposal basis.
