  1.2             relating to commerce; regulating the issuance of 
  1.3             financial transaction cards; proposing coding for new 
  1.4             law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 325G. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [325G.025] [ISSUANCE OF FINANCIAL TRANSACTION 
  1.7   CARDS.] 
  1.8      A financial transaction card must not be issued except in 
  1.9   response to a request or an application for the card.  This 
  1.10  prohibition does not apply to the issuance of a financial 
  1.11  transaction card in renewal of, or in substitution for, a card 
  1.12  accepted pursuant to section 325G.03.
