  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; continuing support of the learn 
  1.3             and earn graduation achievement program; appropriating 
  1.4             money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [LEARN AND EARN GRADUATION ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM; 
  1.7   APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      The following sums are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.9   to the department of children, families, and learning in the 
  1.10  fiscal years designated for aiding local communities in 
  1.11  decreasing youth crime and improving the secondary education 
  1.12  success and increasing the post-secondary educational 
  1.13  opportunities of low-income high school students who reside in 
  1.14  poor, poverty-ridden communities by funding the learn and earn 
  1.15  graduation achievement program under Minnesota Statutes 1998, 
  1.16  section 124D.32: 
  1.17       $2,000,000     .....     2000 
  1.18       $2,000,000     .....     2001 
  1.19     This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.21     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
