relating to education; allowing school districts to
determine the school year starting date; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
120A; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2004, section
120A.40.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Consistent with other law governing the school calendar, a
school district may determine the date on which to start the
school year for purposes of providing student instruction and
staff development for kindergarten through grade 12.

year and later.
