  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; establishing a residential 
  1.3             mental health grant program for facility upgrades; 
  1.4             appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [RESIDENTIAL MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY UPGRADES; 
  1.7   APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      (a) $1,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of human services for the biennium ending June 30, 
  1.10  2001.  This appropriation shall be used to establish a grant 
  1.11  program for residential mental health program facility 
  1.12  upgrades.  This appropriation is available until expended. 
  1.13     (b) Counties must notify the commissioner if they elect to 
  1.14  participate in the grant program.  The funds shall be divided 
  1.15  among the number of facilities in counties electing to 
  1.16  participate.  The funds shall be distributed through the 
  1.17  counties participating in the grant program.
