  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to judicial standards; appropriating money to 
  1.3             the board of judicial standards. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [BOARD ON JUDICIAL STANDARDS.] 
  1.6      $35,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2003 from the 
  1.7   general fund to the board on judicial standards to fund the 
  1.8   costs of an unanticipated public hearing regarding disciplinary 
  1.9   action against a judge.  Any unencumbered balance in fiscal year 
  1.10  2003 does not cancel but is available in fiscal year 2004.  This 
  1.11  is a onetime appropriation and is not added to the board's 
  1.12  budget base. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
