  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to the housing finance agency; appropriating 
  1.3             money to the family homeless prevention and assistance 
  1.4             program. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   housing development fund for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 
  1.9   2001, for purposes of the family homeless prevention and 
  1.10  assistance program, under Minnesota Statutes, section 462A.204.  
  1.11  This appropriation is for grants to organizations providing case 
  1.12  management for persons that need assistance to rehabilitate 
  1.13  their rent history and find rental housing.  Case management 
  1.14  services include, but are not limited to, assisting tenants in 
  1.15  correcting tenant screening reports, expungement of certain 
  1.16  unlawful detainer records, creating a bonding program to 
  1.17  encourage landlords to accept high-risk tenants with poor rent 
  1.18  histories, paying security deposits for high-risk tenants, and 
  1.19  agreeing to pay landlord expenses for filing unlawful detainer 
  1.20  actions.
