1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to state procurement; extending a general 1.3 preference for in-state vendors; amending Minnesota 1.4 Statutes 2002, section 16C.06, subdivision 7. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 16C.06, 1.7 subdivision 7, is amended to read: 1.8 Subd. 7. [OTHER STATES WITH RESIDENT PREFERENCE.] 1.9 Acquisition of goods and services must be awarded according to 1.10 the provisions of this chapter except that a resident vendor 1.11 shall be allowed a ten percent preference over a nonresident 1.12 vendor, except that if the nonresident vendor is from a state 1.13 that gives or requires a preference to vendors from that 1.14 state.that exceeds ten percent, the preference shall be equal 1.15 to the preference given or required by the state of the 1.16 nonresident vendor.
