A bill for an act
relating to physical therapists; providing for
issuance of reciprocal licensure upon proof of
previous practice; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004,
section 148.72, subdivision 1.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 148.72,
subdivision 1, is amended to read:
On payment to the board of a fee in the amount set by the board
and on submission of a written application on forms provided by
the board, the board shall issue a license without examination

(1) new text end is licensed or otherwise registered as a physical
therapist by another state of the United States of America, its
possessions, or the District of Columbia, if the board
determines that the requirements for licensing or registration
in the state, possession, or District are equal to, or greater
than, the requirements in sections 148.65 to 148.78; new text begin or

(2) has practiced physical therapy under the laws of
another state of the United States, its possessions, or the
District of Columbia for five of the preceding seven yearsnew text end .
