A bill for an act
relating to education finance; increasing the funding for the community education
youth service program; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 124D.20,
subdivisions 4, 4a.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 124D.20, subdivision 4, is amended to
read:
Youth service program revenue is available to
a district that has implemented a youth development plan and a youth service program.
Youth service revenue equals deleted text begin $1deleted text end new text begin $1.25 new text end times the greater of deleted text begin 1,335deleted text end new text begin 2,000 new text end or the population
of the district.

This section is effective for revenue for fiscal year 2008.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 124D.20, subdivision 4a, is amended to read:
deleted text begin In fiscal year 2003 and
thereafter,deleted text end Youth after-school enrichment revenue for a district operating a youth
after-school enrichment program under section 124D.19, subdivision 12, equals:
(1) deleted text begin $1.85deleted text end new text begin $2.25 new text end times the greater of deleted text begin 1,335deleted text end new text begin 2,000 new text end or the population of the district, as
defined in section 275.14, not to exceed 10,000; and
(2) deleted text begin $0.43deleted text end new text begin $1 new text end times the population of the district, as defined in section 275.14, in
excess of 10,000. Youth after-school enrichment revenue must be reserved for youth
after-school enrichment programs.
