  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to liquor; modifying sales regulations for 
  1.3             farm wineries; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, 
  1.4             section 340A.315, subdivision 2. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 340A.315, 
  1.7   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 2.  [SALES.] (a) A license authorizes the sale, on 
  1.9   the farm winery premises, of table or sparkling wines produced 
  1.10  by that farm winery at on-sale or off-sale, in retail, or 
  1.11  wholesale lots in total quantities not in excess of 50,000 
  1.12  gallons in a calendar year, glassware, wine literature and 
  1.13  accessories, cheese and cheese spreads, Minnesota-produced 
  1.14  specialty food items, and the dispensing of free samples of the 
  1.15  wines offered for sale. Sales at on-sale and off-sale may be 
  1.16  made on Sundays between 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight.  Labels 
  1.17  for each type or brand produced must be registered with the 
  1.18  commissioner, without fee prior to sale. 
  1.19     (b) A license shall also authorize the sale of the products 
  1.20  specified in paragraph (a) at no more than three additional 
  1.21  retail establishments of the licensee.  The additional retail 
  1.22  establishment locations must be specified in the license. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.24     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
