  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to metropolitan government; permitting the 
  1.3             metropolitan council to provide a program for health 
  1.4             and wellness services for council employees; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 473.129, by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 473.129, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 10.  [EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND WELLNESS.] The council may 
  1.11  provide a program for health and wellness services for council 
  1.12  employees and provide necessary staff, funds, equipment, and 
  1.13  facilities. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [APPLICATION.] 
  1.15     Section 1 applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, 
  1.16  Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
