  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; providing additional funding 
  1.3             for research on potato diseases; appropriating money.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; POTATO DISEASE RESEARCH.] 
  1.6      $300,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of agriculture for grants to the University of 
  1.8   Minnesota for additional research on potato diseases.  $150,000 
  1.9   of this appropriation is for a grant in fiscal year 2002 and 
  1.10  $150,000 is for a grant in fiscal year 2003.  This appropriation 
  1.11  is to fund research that is in addition to ongoing potato 
  1.12  disease research programs.
