  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; extending the duration of the 
  1.3             joint property tax advisory committee comprised of the 
  1.4             city of St. Paul, Ramsey county, and independent 
  1.5             school district No. 625, and making permanent the 
  1.6             requirement of joint public hearings; amending Laws 
  1.7             1993, chapter 375, article 7, section 29. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Laws 1993, chapter 375, article 7, section 29, 
  1.10  is amended to read: 
  1.11     Sec. 29.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.12     Sections 1, 6 to 8, 13, 15 to 25, 27, and 28 are effective 
  1.13  for taxes levied in 1993, payable in 1994 and thereafter.  
  1.14     Section 3, subdivision 5, and the provisions of sections 9 
  1.15  to 11 relating to regional library districts are effective for 
  1.16  property taxes levied in 1994, payable in 1995, and thereafter.  
  1.17  The other provisions of sections 9 to 11 are effective for 
  1.18  property taxes levied in 1993, payable in 1994 and thereafter.  
  1.19     Sections 12 and 14 are effective the day following final 
  1.20  enactment and without local approval, as provided in Minnesota 
  1.21  Statutes, section 645.023, subdivision 1, clause (a), and shall 
  1.22  expire after December 31, 1997.  
  1.23     Section 26 is effective beginning with aids payable in 
  1.24  calendar year 1993.
