  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; providing a temporary early 
  1.3             retirement option for members of the teachers 
  1.4             retirement association and teachers retirement 
  1.5             associations in cities of the first class; amending 
  1.6             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 356.70, subdivision 1.
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 356.70, 
  1.9   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [COMBINED AGE AND SERVICE REQUIREMENT.] Any 
  1.11  A member of a retirement plan established pursuant to under 
  1.12  chapter 352, 353, 354, or 354A who by January 1, 1987 April 1, 
  1.13  1995, has attained the age of at least 55 years and whose 
  1.14  attained age plus credited allowable service totals at least 85, 
  1.15  is entitled, upon valid application and termination of service 
  1.16  prior to July 1, 1987 August 1, 1995, to the normal retirement 
  1.17  annuity provided in these chapters without any reduction in 
  1.18  annuity by reason of such early retirement.  Subdivision 2 does 
  1.19  not apply to retirements under this subdivision in 1995.
