  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to motor carriers; clarifying who may conduct 
  1.3             physical examinations for motor carrier drivers; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 221.031, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 221.031, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 10.  [CONDUCTING PHYSICAL EXAMINATION.] A physical 
  1.10  examination certificate, as required by Code of Federal 
  1.11  Regulations, title 49, sections 391.41 to 391.49, is sufficient 
  1.12  to satisfy the requirements set forth in those regulations if 
  1.13  issued by a doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathy, doctor of 
  1.14  chiropractic, or advanced practice nurse practicing within the 
  1.15  advanced practice nurse's scope of practice, duly licensed in 
  1.16  this state.
