  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to civil actions; limiting liability for 
  1.3             administering medication to certain mentally ill 
  1.4             persons; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes, chapter 604A.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [604A.33] [LIMITED LIABILITY FOR ADMINISTERING 
  1.8   CERTAIN MEDICATION.] 
  1.9      A treatment facility as defined in section 253B.02, 
  1.10  subdivision 19, its employees, and agents who oversee a mentally 
  1.11  ill person in taking medication for the person's mental illness 
  1.12  prescribed by a health care provider other than the treatment 
  1.13  facility, its employees, or agents, are not subject to civil 
  1.14  liability for conduct in connection with the oversight; except 
  1.15  for injury caused by malice, bad faith, or reckless conduct.
