  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; authorizing a purchase of 
  1.3             service credit from the public employees retirement 
  1.4             association. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PURCHASE OF SERVICE CREDIT.] 
  1.7      (a) An eligible person, as described in paragraph (b), is 
  1.8   entitled to obtain coordinated service credit in the public 
  1.9   employees retirement association for the period described in 
  1.10  paragraph (b), clause (2), upon payment of the amount specified 
  1.11  in Minnesota Statutes, section 356.55. 
  1.12     (b) An eligible person is a person who: 
  1.13     (1) was born on May 22, 1932; 
  1.14     (2) was employed by the St. Paul Bureau of Health from 
  1.15  March 1958 to September 1962, was covered by the St. Paul bureau 
  1.16  of health relief association as a result of that employment, and 
  1.17  took a refund of contributions to the association upon leaving 
  1.18  that employment; and 
  1.19     (3) later became a member of the general plan of the public 
  1.20  employees retirement association and currently is a member of 
  1.21  that plan. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
