  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the legislature; providing for the size of 
  1.3             the senate and house of representatives; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 2.021. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 2.021, is 
  1.7   amended to read: 
  1.8      2.021 [NUMBER OF MEMBERS.] 
  1.9      For each legislature, until a new apportionment shall have 
  1.10  been made 2005, the senate is composed of 67 members and the 
  1.11  house of representatives is composed of 134 members.  For each 
  1.12  legislature from 2005 to 2014, the senate shall be composed of 
  1.13  57 members and the house of representatives shall be composed of 
  1.14  114 members.  For each legislature from 2015 to 2024, the senate 
  1.15  shall be composed of 47 members and the house of representatives 
  1.16  shall be composed of 94 members.  For each legislature in 2025 
  1.17  and thereafter, the senate shall be composed of 37 members and 
  1.18  the house of representatives shall be composed of 74 members.
