  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; granting a full year of 
  1.3             service credit to certain members of the Minneapolis 
  1.4             teachers retirement fund association for years in 
  1.5             which the members fell five or fewer days short of 
  1.6             full service. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [FULL-SERVICE CREDIT FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE 
  1.9   MINNEAPOLIS TEACHERS RETIREMENT FUND ASSOCIATION.] 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [APPLICATION.] This section applies to a 
  1.11  member of the Minneapolis teachers retirement fund association 
  1.12  who began teaching in the Minneapolis schools on August 28, 
  1.13  1969, and who was injured on the job on April 9, 1975, and 
  1.14  September 27, 1978, and who in the 2000-2001 school year held a 
  1.15  .8 full-time equivalent position. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [CREDIT FOR CERTAIN YEARS.] Notwithstanding any 
  1.17  provision to the contrary in its articles of incorporation, the 
  1.18  Minneapolis teachers retirement fund association shall credit a 
  1.19  member described in subdivision 1 with a full year of qualified 
  1.20  service for any year in which the member worked at least 120 
  1.21  hours. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
