  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Stearns county; requiring the county to 
  1.3             refund money paid by the city of Melrose for 
  1.4             acquisition of certain property. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [STEARNS COUNTY; REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.] 
  1.7      The governing body of Stearns county shall refund to the 
  1.8   city of Melrose a portion of the amount paid by the city for the 
  1.9   purchase on October 28, 1994, of property designated as PIN No. 
  1.10  66:  36648.000, located in the city of Melrose.  The amount of 
  1.11  the refund must equal the taxes, penalties, and interest paid on 
  1.12  that property for taxes payable years 1990 and 1991. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment, 
  1.15  after the Stearns county board complies with Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.16  section 645.021, subdivision 3.
