  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; creating a high school student 
  1.3             entrepreneurship pilot program; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PILOT PROGRAM.] 
  1.6      A high school student entrepreneurship program is 
  1.7   established within independent school district No. 175, 
  1.8   Westbrook, to increase entrepreneurship education in secondary 
  1.9   schools.  Independent school district No. 175, Westbrook, shall 
  1.10  establish a student-run business within Westbrook Walnut Grove 
  1.11  high school.  High school students shall participate in 
  1.12  marketing, selling, and producing a product. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.14     $85,350 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal 
  1.15  year 1998 to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.16  learning for the high school student entrepreneurship program in 
  1.17  independent school district No. 175, Westbrook.  This 
  1.18  appropriation shall be used for start-up expenses, including, 
  1.19  but not limited to, salaries, travel, seminars, equipment 
  1.20  purchases, contractual expenses, and other expenses related to 
  1.21  the start up of the student-run business.
