A bill for an act
relating to capital improvements; appropriating money
for water level control in mine pits; authorizing
state bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to
the commissioner of natural resources for a grant to the Western
Mesabi Mine Planning Board for permitting, engineering, land
acquisition, physical construction, and related expenses of a
system to control the water level in the Canisteo group of mine
pits, to regulate the outflow of the pit's fresh water into and
out of Trout Lake, and for relocation of the railroad in the
city of Bovey and western Itasca County.

Sec. 2. new text begin BOND SALE.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond
proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue
bonds of the state in an amount up to $5,000,000 in the manner,
upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed in Minnesota
Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
