1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to county economic development; increasing 1.3 county appropriation authority for economic 1.4 development; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 1.5 375.83. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 375.83, is 1.8 amended to read: 1.9 375.83 [ECONOMIC AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT.] 1.10 A county board may appropriatenot more than $50,0001.11annuallymoney out of the general revenue fund of the county to 1.12 be paid to any incorporated development society or organization 1.13 of this state which, in the board's opinion, will use the money 1.14 for the best interests of the county in promoting, advertising, 1.15 improving, or developing the economic and agricultural resources 1.16 of the county.The limitation on appropriations in this section1.17does not prohibit accumulation of amounts in excess of $50,0001.18in a fund to be used for the purposes of this section. The1.19total amount accumulated in the fund must not exceed $300,000.1.20 Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 1.21 Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
