  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; removing the 
  1.3             authorization for appropriations for art in state 
  1.4             buildings; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.5             85A.02, subdivision 5b; repealing Minnesota Statutes 
  1.6             1996, section 16B.35. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [REPEAL; AUTHORITY TO FUND ART IN STATE 
  1.9   BUILDINGS.] 
  1.10     Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 16B.35, is repealed. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 85A.02, 
  1.12  subdivision 5b, is amended to read: 
  1.13     Subd. 5b.  [EXEMPTIONS.] The board is not subject to 
  1.14  sections 3.841 to 3.845, 15.057, 15.061, 16A.1285, and 16A.28; 
  1.15  chapter 16B, except for sections 16B.07, 16B.102, 16B.17, 
  1.16  16B.19, 16B.35, and 16B.55; and chapter 14, except section 
  1.17  14.38, subdivision 7, relating to the legal status of rules and 
  1.18  the legislative review of rules.
