  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public safety; appropriating money for 
  1.3             drug task force education measures. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [STATEWIDE FUNDING FOR MULTIJURISDICTIONAL 
  1.6   NARCOTICS TASK FORCES.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 
  1.8   30, 2002, and $....... is appropriated for the fiscal year 
  1.9   ending June 30, 2003, to the commissioner of public safety from 
  1.10  the general fund to distribute as matching funds to counties 
  1.11  participating in multijurisdictional narcotics task forces that 
  1.12  receive federal Byrne grant funds.  These matching funds are 
  1.13  available statewide to any county currently participating in a 
  1.14  task force, any county seeking to join an existing task force, 
  1.15  and any county starting its own task force.
