For the purposes of sections 124D.71 to 124D.82, the terms defined in this section have the meanings given them.
"American Indian child" means any child, living on or off a reservation, who is enrolled or eligible for enrollment in a federally recognized tribe.
"Tribal Nations Education Committee" means the committee established through tribal directive that the commissioner consults with on American Indian education programs, policy, and all matters related to educating Minnesota's American Indian students.
"Participating school" and "American Indian school" mean a school that:
(1) is not operated by a school district; and
(2) is eligible for a grant under federal Title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act for the education of American Indian children.
