A bill for an act
relating to local government; providing for terms for members of the Red Wing
Port Authority; amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 469.081, by adding a
subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 469.081, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Notwithstanding the enabling resolution or any law
to the contrary, for appointees to the Red Wing Port Authority whose terms expire after
December 31, 2010, the terms of subsequent appointees to serve on the port authority
is three years.

Sec. 2. new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.

new text begin Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of the city of Red Wing and
its chief clerical officer comply with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivisions
2 and 3, and applies retroactively from January 1, 2011.
