A bill for an act
 relating to local government; extending the authority of Ramsey County to
impose a mortgage registry and deed tax; extending the authority of Hennepin
County to impose a mortgage registry and deed tax; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2006, sections 383A.80, subdivision 4; 383B.80, subdivision 4.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 383A.80, subdivision 4, is amended to
read:


Subd. 4.

Expiration.

The authority to impose the tax under this section expires
January 1, deleted text begin 2008deleted text end new text begin 2013new text end .

new text begin This section is effective the day following final enactment
and the tax may be imposed on or after that date.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 383B.80, subdivision 4, is amended to read:
