BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin DIVERSITY RECRUITMENT PILOT PROJECT; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,330,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of natural resources for a diversity recruitment pilot project. In partnership
with Conservation Corps Minnesota and Iowa, the commissioner will increase
participation of diverse students in the fields of science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics. The appropriation may be used for internships, mentoring, and
postsecondary education funding and is available until June 30, 2021. This is a onetime
appropriation and does not become part of the base.
