A bill for an act
 relating to the Metropolitan Council; authorizing sale of discount bus passes to
certain charitable organizations; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section
473.408, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 473.408, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:


Subd. 8.

Charitable organization discount passes.

The council may offer passes,
including tokens, for regular route bus service for sale to charitable organizations,
described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, at a special discount.

Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.

Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
