  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to elections; requiring disclosures by 
  1.3             certain persons conducting polls; proposing coding for 
  1.4             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 211B. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [211B.206] [POLLING; REQUIRED DISCLOSURES.] 
  1.7      A person who conducts a poll by telephone or any other 
  1.8   method in which the polling is intended to influence the 
  1.9   recipient of the poll to support or oppose a candidate must 
  1.10  disclose: 
  1.11     (1) who the person represents in conducting the poll; 
  1.12     (2) whether a candidate or a principal campaign committee 
  1.13  has authorized the poll; and 
  1.14     (3) where the person being polled can get more information 
  1.15  about the polling effort.
