A bill for an act
relating to health; requiring commissioner of health to review the vaccine stock
supplies of home care agencies.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin REVIEW OF VACCINE STOCK SUPPLIES OF HOME CARE
AGENCIES.

new text begin (a) The commissioner of health, in consultation with other stakeholders, shall review
the current barriers to Minnesota's licensed-only home care providers in obtaining stock
supplies of tuberculin, hepatitis B vaccine, and influenza vaccine. The purpose of the
review shall be to determine what, if any, changes in Minnesota Statutes or Minnesota
Rules would eliminate identified barriers. Stakeholders shall include:

new text begin (1) the Minnesota Board of Nursing;

new text begin (2) the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) home care and assisted living
program;

new text begin (3) the MDH Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention, and Control Division;

new text begin (4) the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy;
new text end

new text begin (5) associations representing home care providers; and
new text end

new text begin (6) other interested stakeholders.

new text begin (b) The commissioner shall report the results of the review to the legislative
committees having jurisdiction over health and human services no later than February 15,
2016, along with any recommendations for legislative changes.
